The Rhythm of Seasons, The Rhythm of Life

Living on planet earth, we are constantly traveling in our universe, moving closer or further away from the sun. This movement is seen with the changing seasons. Depending on the time of the year, we enter the sun’s light at different times each morning. In fact, it is not the sun that rises, as the saying goes, but it is us who bath in its light as we come into its space.

The sun governs all life by its photon emanations and heat, acting on the elements of Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. When the elements combine, they generate atmospheric fluctuations that affect our everyday life. These same elements are found in the body and function differently depending on the season.

While the summer is governed by the powerful action of Fire, the autumn is governed by the element of Air. After the summer holidays, when we return to work, we are under the influence of Air, which is associated with the sense of smell. It is time to put yourself into action to re-discover your masculine or feminine inspiration. Take a new breath, feel yourself to have a better organization and follow your own inspirations.

The meridians associated with the autumn are those of the lungs-colon family. Lungs and colon govern the breadth and organization, respectively. The sense of smell allows us to recognize ourselves in its subtle expression as if to allow “our scent” to accomplish our daily tasks.

If these meridians are well balanced, the change of season will potentiate them. It’s a period of “wellness”, a time of happiness, which allows the rediscovery and the animation of all the masculine and feminine sensibilities and to live in abundance of the fall.

If the meridians are imbalanced, you will see the recurrence of the same problems each year. Some of the possible issues include a loss of confidence, a lack of inspiration, a loss of control that results in muscle spasms, colds, sinusitis, bronchitis and joint pains. To protect against these, the meridians associated with the fall must be awakened and activated.

The Power Foods of the Season

Proper nutrition is one way to help during this season. Nature always provides bounty that nourishes our needs at different times of the year. In the fall, it’s time to fill up with vitamin C to help enter the season with peace of mind. Fruits such as kiwis, oranges, clementines, lemons, grapefruits, apples, pears, blackcurrants, blueberries, and blackberries are all good sources of vitamin C. The grape, for example, is the fruit that contributes both to tonus and energy with its vitamins and minerals, such as potassium. The black grape is usually richer in vitamins than the white variety. Grapes fibers also help with intestinal balance. Because they are difficult to digest, it’s best to avoid the seeds.

Autumn is a good time for detoxification, especially of the colon, and therefore having more green vegetables, which are rich in fiber, is helpful. During this season, we have many choices with spinach, broccoli, pumpkin, lettuce, parsley, turnip, cabbage, eggplant, celery, garlic, onion, leek, chicory, squash, potatoes, rice, wheat, corn, millet, spelt, peas, chickpeas, white beans, red beans, and lentils.

The chestnut, which comes into season along with the start of winter, is a high-energy food (174 kcal/100g). Chestnuts have a lot of starch and are high in fiber and low in protein and fat. They also help maintain the charge in potassium and to a lesser extent, calcium and magnesium.

Activating the Vital Currents of the Autumn

Nutripuncture helps to strengthen the body’s vital currents. The two key meridians for the season are those of the breath (vital currents 20 of the lungs) and of organization (vital currents 05 of the colon).

Using associations that include these two will help strengthen the meridians.
We recommend: Nutri Yin + Nutri Yang + 05 + 20

To awaken the sense of smell, the following meridians can be nourished together with Nutri Yin and Nutri Yang.

The Vital Currents of the Autumn

Nutri 05 – vital currents of organization (vital currents of the colon)

Nutri 20 – vital currents of the breath (vital currents of the lungs)

The Sense Vital Currents – Smell

Nutri 12 – vital currents of instinct (vital currents of the hypothalamus)

Targeted Nutritional Supplements

The Activa Phytovitality is based on the meridians balance system. The supplements harness the synergy of plant extracts in micro-granules form and in relation with a pulmonary balance to activate the lungs vital currents. We can take advantage of this time of the year to boost and strengthen our immunity.

We recommend using Activa Well Being Respiration as prevention together with Well Being Immunity.

The colon also plays a very important role thanks to its micro-organisms and may require supplementation of pro and prebiotic to compensate for an inappropriate diet.

Even though autumn in Singapore may not have the beautiful golds and reds of other places, there is still a change of season. It is a good time to take a walk in the forest or anywhere outdoors. Breathe in the smells and the energy of the season and allow yourself to harmonize with the dynamics of this season.
